Today is February 28th and up through 2016, we would celebrate my mother’s birthday. It was a family joke that her children were all older (birthday-wise) than her since she was born on February 29, 1920. My mother, Dorothy Friedman Moss was the last of seven children, two of her siblings died before she was born. Being the youngest there was an 18-year gap between her and her oldest sister. My Aunt Jean was delegated to assist in raising my mom. My Baube Friedman was a very simple woman who was left behind in Russia while my Zayde immigrant to…

Have you ever had a lot to say — but the words are jumbled and they refuse to come out in print when you type? Well, that is what I…

It’s been 10 days since I last wrote my blog — something happened, I don’t know what, but I went silent with my daily thoughts. However, today I am back sharing that I am an extremely sensitive individual. As a young child, I would cry at the drop of a word or thought whether it was meant for me or someone else. I have lived my life apologizing and sometimes to my detriment. That is what I am sharing today.

I am not a perfect person and trying to be a people pleaser I make mistakes. I often catch those…

Why TGIF? In today’s world, Friday is much like any other day. Once it was the end of the workweek and a sign that when the whistle blew at 5 pm everyone stopped what they were doing, and the fun began. However, many knew it was a fallacy because the only thing they knew for sure was they were not going to work for two more days. Society makes its marks on us and we believe what we are programmed to know. If you happen to be the one not experiencing the fun like others your assumptions about yourself may…

This morning I want to focus on feelings. No one is immune to emotions, although some don’t show or share what they are experiencing. Often when we refer to feelings, we are talking about the things that might embarrass, offend, or cause upset. These emotions provoke thoughts that draw us to a dark place. I am sure you have seen emotion charts when visiting your doctor. You don’t have to label your feelings; all you have to do is point at one of the faces from smiling to sad or something in-between.

Growing up, my parents nicknamed me Sarah Bernhardt…

Some days we just don’t feel like blogging, or we think we have nothing to say. Well, I think those may be the most important days to share that we believe we are wordless (not worthless!)

Do you ever find yourself driving down the road, sitting and working, or even watching TV and realize that there is a conversation going on in your head? No, you are not crazy we all have these voices/thoughts sometimes taking us captive with dialogue that we either should listen to or halt it in its tracks.

The voices are the thoughts we have developed…

We couldn’t wait for New Years’ Eve 2020 to take us into 2021. The nest date we patiently waited for was January 20th when history would take the fork in the road with the first Brown, Jewish, Women representing the United States as our vice president with a soft-spoken Joe Biden changing the dialogue with the hope of being reunited. And last night was Super Bowl LV and many are already complaining that the logo looked like Super Bowl LIV and found reasons to point out that the creators of the graphics should have looked twice at their design. Although…

7 years ago (it seems like a lifetime ago) Depression Hit me Hard! I was working at a job that I once loved as a college admissions rep working my way up to a senior admissions rep, I was helping people of all ages seek out the career path they wanted to follow and enroll to obtain a degree that would put them on a path for success. I began working in this field in 2006, and by 2007 I felt like I had set the world on fire. Although my hours included a lunch I was so eager to…

As I sit here in my dining area the news plays in the background and as I look outside my window all I see is darkness. Although I had one good night of sleep it was followed by another restless night and the thoughts/dreams I experienced as difficult as they are to recall they were disturbing. The only thing I remember is that the dreams did not relate to me. So why do I feel anxious? I can feel the painful sensations in my neck and shoulders.

17 years ago today was not just another day –

I woke and shared a quick breakfast with my husband who had to attend a 3-day conference in Pittsburgh (for work)

The day and the date to celebrate our 1st of two wedding anniversaries on that day was postponed for another time

A 20th anniversary is a milestone but not for us at least on February 3rd.

He traveled to Pittsburgh and I went to work

The day felt as normal as a day could be — in the back of my mind I knew my father was experiencing his…
